Cheers, mate.

We can always escape from work, go to a pub (or a wine cellar), and leave a message like this behind:

The four points puzzle in Gardonyi’s house drives me crazy: I know for sure which four objects I should draw lines between, but the position of one of them, namely the pack of cards, seems improbable/not clear. In the brown book in “Castrum Antiquitas” it reads: “The writer kept it in the Study, in the cupboard with the painted doors, on the left side.” Now, there isn’t any “cupboard with the painted doors” in the Study, there are two of those in the Bedroom. I wonder which is wrong in the description: the room or the piece of furniture that used to hold the pack of cards?

Btw, these spoiler tags have a flaw: if I put a single word (in a text hidden by spoiler tags) in italics the whole hidden text becomes visible. Confused

One more thing: if the pack of cards is really located in one of the painted cupboards in the Bedroom, then three of the four points are on the same line and there couldn’t be two lines that intersect somewhere beyond that line.

I hope someone understood me. Darn English… Angry

The way this puzzle is executed is ridiculous. Pan

I just hate it when I know exactly what should be done and still can’t do it. I found the right items, I found the right places for them (that book shelf - not the cupboard - has teeny tiny paintings in the bottom of it; I finally saw that)  and then I can’t do what I’m sure has to be done because someone did a lousy programming (and I have to draw the lines from the exact pixels intended and not a pixel left or right, up or down).

Thanks.
Now that you mentioned it, I think I saw that thread before; however this is the first time I tried to use italics within the spoiler tags.

How come you’re not taking part in this playthrough? It’s GREAT, I‘m in.
Yes, yes I know about the other GREAT playthrough, but still…

Yes that would be an incentive, I have good memories of a couple of CPs we both participated in.

Yes, yes I know about the other GREAT playthrough, but still…

There you go.  Tongue
But there’s another reason. I played the demo at the time. Quite a long one too. The puzzles were too difficult for me and I lost interest.

Yes, the puzzles of Yoomurjak are not easy, but so far they’re very interesting and logical.
Too bad one of them is (in my opinion) badly programmed. Shifty Eyed

One more thing: I’m a sucker for all kinds of mysteries, and Yoomurjak’s Ring seems to be a great mystery.

Vegetable Party - 17 September 2021 11:52 AM

I met a receptionist at the hospital who may or may not be on drugs and a dude in a cellar with an amazing stache.

The reception nurse probably didn’t know that she was acting for a game, probably thought this was some kind of erotic thriller or something.

I’ve really liked all the older characters though, they’re so fun and friendly, makes me smile.

I was disappointed that the player is forced to use fast travel. I spent the second morning trying to get to the old man’s house manually. No luck.

Also, it’s kind of weird how at the Lyceum Jonathan needs to always take the stairs all the way to the ground floor. Poor Jonathan went the stairs up and then back down, and then up again for each of the four upper floors. Grin

Currently I’m stuck. I’ve found four interesting items and I know where they have been located, but no one is commenting anything about it. I’m just roaming around blind. I can’t study the locations or the items, and no one is giving me a clue about what else I could do. Frustrating.

Ok, I peeked a bit on Zobraks’ spoilers to notice it was the same puzzle, and right after posting this I looked at the leaflet once again and only now noticed it had a second page!  Maybe I’ll figure this out now.

I did, and I’m in day 3 now. I had no trouble with the puzzle once I found the second page. Being stuck with the puzzle might have helped though, since I had studied those locations veeeery carefully.

You had no problem with drawing those two (crossed) lines? Kudos to you.

Maybe I just got lucky, but like I said, I already spent quite a lot of time finding those spots. Basically first I clicked all the spots and just got two horizontal lines and Jonathan commented that maybe I should consider which point to connect to which, and then I crossed the spots to get an X, no hassle at all. If it’s very unforgiving in the marked spots, then I probably did get a bit lucky.

I forgot to comment the questions:

1. I found the miniature of the city on day 1, yay me.
2. I found the camera obscura on day 2 and yes it’s cool. I didn’t really understand how it worked, I guess I need to google it.
3. There are tons of large historical buildings that look at least some kind of estates and many with towers. I didn’t count. I visited the huge cathedral at least.

Oh, and I forgot to mention the slightly weird continuity errors - or the like. Pretty much the first thing to do for the day was to go for the 10 am meeting. So it’s not like we start early. I met Juli like 2 or 3 times and did tons of other things. Then she was gone from the tourist info and I called her, and she greeted me with “good morning” and basically was still commenting something about me going for the morning meeting. (Was I supposed to turn into a stalker and call her the first thing in the morning?)
Then just a tad later it was “good afternoon”. And a bit later she “just got home”. I wonder what on earth was she doing the whole day? Grin

I understand that many characters are stupidly static in a game like this. Like the lady in the cafeteria, waiting there basically the whole day. But the conversations with Juli seemed to be off more than usual.

Is she time-traveling this whole time?

1. Have you found the model of the city?

No, but I found a couple of city models:

You said it! Puzzles in this game are really not easy at all. I’m ashamed to admit I had to turn to a walkthrough to finish this game more times than I wanted.  Each time I read the solution I thought to myself ‘damn not sure I would have ever figured that out’  ha ha ha ha ha

Now you scared me Lakerz.
Glad to see you’re alive and kicking nevertheless.

I reckon games that are hard to go through on one’s own should be played in community playthroughs - that’s why I joined the Yoomurjak tackling.
